The Definition of Receiving (and How to Do It): A Powerful New Moon Tapping Ritual

The New Moon is one of the most powerful times of the month to pause, set intentions, and open your heart to receive.
For years, I’ve guided my community through New Moon tapping rituals that combine EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) with intention-setting, manifestation, and nervous system regulation.
This New Moon is especially potent — it’s about relationships, support, and shifting into the energy of receiving.
During this month’s New Moon Tapping Session, I shared a simple yet transformative truth:
“The definition of receiving is letting more light into your vessel.”
Your vessel is your body. When you allow yourself to soften, ask for support, and open your energy, you create space for more love, abundance, clarity, and divine opportunities to flow in.
This is what receiving energy really means — not hustling harder or trying to “earn” what you want, but opening to let it in.
Why the New Moon Is the Best Time to Practice Receiving
In many spiritual traditions and manifestation practices, the New Moon represents new beginnings, fresh energy, and planting seeds for what’s to come.
This is the ideal time to:
Get clear on what you’re calling in
Identify the subconscious stories that block it
Use EFT tapping to shift those beliefs
Anchor into the energy of already receiving
Unlike the Full Moon, which is about releasing and letting go, the New Moon is about planting intentions and activating possibility.
Step 1: Identify Where You’re Blocking the Flow
Before you can fully receive, you have to get honest about where you might be blocking your own blessings.
Ask yourself:
Where am I trying to do everything alone?
Where do I avoid asking for help or support?
Where am I secretly resisting what I say I want?
In the session, I had everyone rate themselves on a scale of 0–100%:
“How open am I to receiving what I desire?”
This gives you a clear starting point. If your number is low, it’s simply a sign that there are stories or fears ready to be released.
Step 2: Tap Through the Resistance (EFT Tapping Technique)
Once you’ve identified your blocks, the next step is to clear them through EFT tapping.
Tapping is a powerful somatic tool that calms the nervous system and helps rewire limiting beliefs. By gently tapping on specific acupressure points while voicing your fears, you bring the subconscious resistance to the surface — and dissolve it.
We call this the “venting round”:
You say the truth. The messy, honest part.
And as you tap through it, the charge begins to melt away.
🪄 Why this works: Tapping lowers cortisol levels and creates new neural pathways that support your desired beliefs — making manifestation feel safe in your body, not just like a mindset exercise.
Step 3: Let the New Belief Rise
Once the old story softens, something new naturally emerges: a calm, grounded sense of knowing.
This is where new beliefs take root:
“I can do this.”
“I deserve this.”
“This is already happening for me.”
This is the moment your receiving energy shifts from wishful thinking to embodied truth. It’s one of the reasons New Moon rituals are so effective — your subconscious is more receptive when your energy is in a state of openness.
Step 4: Anchor Into the Feeling of Already Receiving
The final step in this EFT tapping practice is to anchor your new belief into the body.This is the “embodiment” phase of manifestation — where it moves from your head into your cells.
During the session, we tapped through affirmations like:
“I can have the support I desire.”
“I can have the success I desire.”
“This is happening for me now.”
When you anchor this feeling in your body, your energy aligns with the reality you’re calling in. That alignment is what magnetizes opportunities, support, and synchronicities your way.

On a scale of 0–100%, how open am I to receiving it?
What fears or stories are standing in my way?

💡 Tip: Do this on or near the New Moon each month. Over time, you’ll notice your receiving energy growing stronger and more natural.
